Color Scale Format in Excel

A color scale in Excel Conditional Formatting is a gradient that colors cells based on their values. The color intensity (or hue) reflects the relative value within the selected range, creating a visual scale.

How to apply:

Select the range.

Home > Conditional Formatting > Color Scales.

In this format it  displays a two or three color gradient in a range of cells. The shade of the color represents the value in the cell.
